In The Top 10 Most Romantic Cities, Spring is Here and Boomer Couples are Ready!

Bert Sperling's BestPlaces Announces Top 10 U.S. Cities Where Romance is Blooming for Boomers

PITTSBURGH, April 20, 2007 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX News Network/ -- Home may be where the heart is, but for many baby boomers(i), home is also where guests stop by unannounced, "to-do" lists seem to grow longer by the minute and bills crowd the mailbox waiting to be paid. However, a new study, conducted by Bert Sperling of Sperling's BestPlaces, found the top 10 cities in the United States where romance blooms for boomers -- no matter what the interruption. Interestingly, Pittsburgh came out on top as the number one city where the boomer set is finding special moments for romance.

In fact, according to the study(ii), boomer marriage rates in Pittsburgh ranked eighth among the 50 largest metro areas in the United States. The study also found that Pittsburgh has the second-lowest percent of divorced and separated boomer adults among the 50 largest cities. Living in the most romantic city, Pittsburgh boomers are ready for the special moments in a relationship and take the time to create them, by showering their true love in flowers and candy. According to the study, floral sales in Pittsburgh ranked number one and candy sales ranked number two among the top 10 cities.

"More than 78 million Americans are considered part of the boomer generation(iii). The boomer couples living in these top cities are keeping romance alive and have shown they don't need a special occasion in order to spoil their one-and-only," said Bert Sperling, research expert and founder of Sperling's BestPlaces. "This study suggests that it is often the little things that they do that mean the most when it comes to expression of romance."

"The top 10 cities in our study had a very high number of married boomers and conversely a very low divorce rate for this generation. These factors weighed heavily in our study, while ballroom dancing, floral, jewelry and candy sales, and great restaurants -- some of the ways boomers keep romance in bloom -- supplemented our findings," explained Sperling.

About Cialis

Cialis(R) (tadalafil) is approved by the FDA for the treatment of erectile dysfunction. It is not indicated for romance or relationship improvement.

Cialis was approved by the FDA in November 2003 for the treatment of erectile dysfunction. Cialis is available by prescription only and is not for everyone. Men taking nitrates, often used for chest pain, should not take Cialis. Such a combination could cause a sudden, unsafe drop in blood pressure. The most common side effects with Cialis were headache, upset stomach, delayed backache or muscle ache. As with any ED tablet, in the rare event of priapism (an erection lasting more than four hours), men should seek immediate medical attention to avoid long-term injury. Men should not drink alcohol in excess with Cialis.

Cialis does not protect a man or his partner from sexually transmitted diseases, including HIV. In rare instances, men taking prescription ED tablets (including Cialis) reported a sudden decrease or loss of vision. It's not possible to determine if these events are related directly to the ED tablets or to other factors. If a man has a sudden decrease or loss of vision, he should stop taking Cialis and seek immediate medical attention.

Men should discuss their medical conditions and all medications with their doctors to ensure Cialis is right for them and that they are healthy enough for sexual activity. For full patient information, visit www.cialis.com.

(ii) "Where is Romance Booming" Study Results Report, Bert Sperling
BestPlaces, sponsored by Eli Lilly and Company. The study focused on
the 50 largest metro areas in the United States, which contain over
50 percent of the population. Within those areas, the study
examined factors in three major categories: demographics, lifestyle,
and resources. These categories included such factors as marital
status (including divorce rate), sales of jewelry, candy and
flowers, and the presence of romantic activities like ballroom
          dancing and fine dining options.
The demographics were derived from U.S. Census data, selected to
include only the population aged 45 to 60 years, and the activities
chosen were those which signified a high degree of romantic
participation for the target age group.
